Acupuncture is a very subtle natural medicine, and I have recommended many of my friends (young and old) to have treatments with Berenice for many different symptoms that they may have. I can't recommend acupuncture with Berenice enough, if you are considering if acupuncture may be for you, you should give it a try.

Berenice was recommended to me by another clinic within the Carl Todd clinic. She has an amazing wealth of knowledge allowing for a complete holistic approach to my treatment. My initial appointment in 2019 was for acupuncture on a recently diagnosed uterine polyp and at this appointment I also chatted to Berenice about my chronic pain in my neck and shoulder, Trismus in my jaw and long term pain in my wrist. My neck pain, frozen shoulder and Trismus were all linked to a trauma I suffered when a garage up and over door came down on my head. I was in excruciating pain but radiographically there was no fracture thankfully. The doctor recommended anti inflammatory painkillers but as time went on the pain and lack of movement in my neck and shoulder was getting worse. I was struggling to drive, work and carry my kids. Berenice carried out Guasha, cupping and acupuncture over 5-6 appointments and I can only explain it as life transforming. My headaches had gone, I could eat and chew food again and my vision had improved. My neck and shoulder pain and mobility was improving after every appointment and I was no longer relaying on painkillers just to get me through the day - As to date no symptoms have returned. During my appointments for treatment on my neck and shoulder Berenice also carried out acupuncture to treat my 3mm polyp. Since my treatment I've had 2 further ultra sound scans (the most recent in 2021) and as to date there is no sign of any polyp. I cannot recommend Berenice highly enough. She has improved the quality of my life significantly. She was very professional and at the same time caring, gentle and empathetic. Her holistic approach to my treatment was just what I needed - Not just treating one issue but treating my whole body. This approach has allowed for the healing of my body and my wellbeing to be achieved.

A friend of mine has been treated successfully for Plantar Fasciitis and Morton’s Neuroma with Bernice in 2015 and recommended her to me because I was suffering with Plantar Fasciitis. The pain under my foot as well as on top was unbearable, sharp and stabbing to the point I couldn’t Put my foot down. It was stopping me from walking out to enjoy the countryside. After 2 treatments with Bernice the pain started to decline, so I could start going out walking again. I had 2 more treatments, and now I’m free of pain, my feet and legs are really so comfortable. In addition to this treatment, Bernice treated my hot flushes that I was waking up most nights. I have been having them for many year’s and never thought it would stop. I am not having hot flushes at all now, so I’m sleeping so much better. I’m extremely happy what Bernice had been able to do. Plantar fasciitis - In 2019 a friend recommended Berenice to me for my plantar fasciitis as it was getting me down, the pain in my heel was agony specially when walking. I can't recommend Berenice highly enough. If you don't have time to read further down just pick up the phone and book Berenice. She is a lovely calm person and obviously so interested, knowledgable and in tune in her field of expertise of acupuncture and more.
MY PROBLEM
I was suffering from lower back pain which over the past 2 years had been slowly aggravated by a new Tempur hybrid mattress which turned out to be faulty. (Never again buy Tempur). I could barely walk let alone any exercise. I was becoming so miserable.
HOW I FOUND BERENICE
One morning I had had enough and literally googled the nearest acupuncturist. Sorry no great referral like this one lol, just sheer desperation.
BERENICE TREATMENT
How lucky I was to find Berenice. After talking to her on the phone and her being quite upfront about expectations and how many sessions would be realistic, I booked in for hour consultation and 1st treatment.
She discovers the obvious issues but also the background causes that hinder it.
After the first session, whole body full of needles, I was literally wiped out for 4 days then on the 5th day it was like someone had given me my mojo back (I have tears in my eyes just remembering that amazing feeling). My energy levels shot up and therefore just made me feel better within myself. I slept better which we know helps heal injuries. I could bend at the waist as she had cleared that meridian (whatever you call them) and generally felt more positive.
Each session made such a difference and by the 4th session I was able to bend and put socks on again. I have had 5 sessions in total the 5th was a couple of months after the last and my suggestion as a maintenance check.
5 MONTHS AFTER FIRST TREATMENT
No more shooting pain when walking or feeling my body was like a puppet and the strings would snap. I am able to do sit ups again and slowly ( I am very impatient) able to build my strength back. I occasionally get a nagging pain generally when I have over done it. I have days after days where I don't feel any lower back pain. I am learning to bend and lift in the right way because you realise how you slowly over compensated on one side due to pain or lack of flexibility.
INITIAL INJURY
I broke my back 12 years ago from a horse riding accident. I broke my L345, T12, 3x ribs and other stuff and suffer from time to time although paddle-boarding helps. However the mattress was silently doing so much damage that I had never suffered so badly.
MY SYMPTOMS
It had got to the point that some days I had a constant nagging pain and even just walking would send a shooting pain through my lower back or send me into a spasm. I am only 50 years old but felt over 90. I didn't realise how much It had got me down. One day walking with my husband I felt a shooting pain so severe my legs gave way and if my husband hadn't caught me I would have fallen to the ground.
OTHER TREATMENTS
The Doctor referred me to a physio in Oxford (complete waste of time) sent me exercises to do which I had been doing every morning already and some more. I had tried chiropractors and osteopaths at my expense but although great at the treatment time gave no long term relieve.
CONCLUSION
If you are reading this then you are obviously in pain and probably feeling really quite down. You have nothing to lose and certainly no obligation to continue if you feel it is not for you. My husband is now having a few sessions to help with an old Army related injury. Acupuncture may not be for everyone but all I can say is Berenice helped me get back to 90% the rest I say is down to me. As I said before I really can't recommend Berenice highly enough.

Well Woman Treatment: I went to see Berenice for a well woman treatment as a birthday treat from my husband after he gave raving reviews about her successfully treating his Plantar fasciitis and Sinusitis. I found her treatment so balancing, my sleeping has improved so much and my flushes are more or less none existent. Berenice is a true professional but is so calming, both Berenice and her beautiful clinic make you feel so relaxed. Since my treatment I now rave about Berenice to everyone and can highly recommend her.

I have recently seen Berenice for a treatment for cystitis, brilliant! With a combination of drinking plenty of water and acupuncture treatment from Berenice, we sorted it without having to have any antibiotics!! Fabulous!

I was suffering from trigeminal neuralgia, which caused severe shooting pain through the R. side of my face from forehead, through the nose and upper jaw into chin area. It was provoked by brushing or inadvertently touching my face or nose, or chewing on the R.side. This is a frightening condition, because of the severity of the pain. The GP had recommended anticonvulsant medication which I was reluctant to take so I decided to give acupuncture a try. Berenice had been recommended by a friend of a friend. I found her to be welcoming , knowledgeable, explaining everything well, and inspiring confidence. After 2 sessions the pain had lessened, and I found chewing on that side easier. After the final 4th session, my face felt normal and I was chewing normally. What a relief! I would encourage anyone with this awful condition to try acupuncture, and in particular, Berenice, who I can't thank enough.

I've been seeing Berenice since April 2019, having been recommended by a friend. My main reason for trying Acupuncture was due to a very long history of severe hay-fever, since a child, and finding it to be impacting my life so severely that i needed time off work. I would suffer very itchy eyes, runny and blocked nose, wheezy chest that often became infected. The treatments i've received have definitely helped reduce my symptoms significantly, to the extent that i was able to complete the 3 Peaks Challenge in June last year, something that i could never have done previously. Aside from this, i find the treatments extremely relaxing and i always have a sense of calmness and wellbeing in the hours and days after. My sleep is improved, i feel cooler, less stressed and more able to cope with life. Berenice has a lovely manner and makes you feel at ease. She is very professional and confidential and i can highly recommend her as a practitioner. I always look forward to my treatments and will continue to see Berenice as the long term benefits will really improve my lifestyle.

I went to Berenice because all other routes to curing my problems had not been successful. I have had 6 treatments and can honestly say I am in a better place than I've been for ages; the pain I was experiencing before is more or less gone. Berenice is highly qualified and clearly very knowledgeable; because of this she is able to offer other treatments alongside the acupuncture. If you have struggled with a problem and are getting no resolution with other treatments, give it a try!

I initially visited Bernie following a diagnosis of degenerative disc disease in my lower spine. I had exhausted all options and the only solution left for me was to go down the surgical route. Bernie took the time to really listen, she made connections to other health issues that just weren't obvious to me. Bernie treated my whole body, not just my symptoms! I only needed six sessions and I am still reaping the benefits 12 months on. I haven't had to have surgery and I no longer need to take copious amounts of pain relief to exist. My profession involves working with many natural scientists. Whilst I will never understand how Chinese medicine works I am over the moon that I went with an open mind and tried something that western medicine doesn't fully understand.

In August 2018, I had an injury to my shoulder. It was caused by a fall and was very painful, and resulted in a loss of full use of my right shoulder and arm, partly through pain, and partly through reduced range of motion. For example, I could no longer throw a ball or a stick for my dog when out walking with him. I couldn’t sleep on my right side because of the pain, and it was always with me. Pain killers helped a bit, but that is only short term and I didn’t want to become dependant on them. I had treatment from therapists which did help, but the recovery only got so far and then stalled. After 5 months I was still in a lot of pain. My wife had tried Chinese healing through Berenice, and found it effective for her hip issue and so I decided to try it. After three treatment sessions, my shoulder is very much improved and while it is not yet entirely pain free, I can now do a lot of things that I hadn’t been able to do, including sleeping on my right side. I am now starting treatment on my knee as a result of the confidence I have gained through this.

Over a year on, and my shoulder is now completely pain free, and I have total range of motion as before the accident. I did have treatment on my knee, and that too is now very much improved, I have had no recurrence of pain for a year now, which is a massive step forward for me as I had expected to have to live with the problem indefinitely. I am now a big fan of Berenice' treatment regime.

I first met Berenice in July 2017. I was suffering with Trigeminal Neuralgia (episodes of severe, sudden, shock-like pain in both sides of my face that lasts for seconds to a few minutes). I was in agony as anyone who has this will know. I was on a very high dose of pain killers. I found Berenice very caring and knowledgeable in what she does. Her treatment room is very inviting warm and clean. Berenice was very thorough with her investigation. All through my treatment she kept in touch week by week to know how I was feeling and if the treatment was working. All the time she was treating me she told me exactly what she was doing. By Christmas 2017, I was pain free and tablet free. I cannot speak highly enough of Berenice. After suffering for over 6 years with Trigeminal Neuralgia, I am now pain free.

Weeks of suffering with a bad cold resulted in a nasty ear infection. Visits to the GP and being prescribed antibiotics together with ear sprays to help with inflammation did not help. I was at the point were my hearing in one ear was very limited. I decided to have a treatment with Berenice rather than trying yet more drugs and after just one treatment the result was amazing. During the treatment I could feel crackling in my ear - things were starting to clear! Then whilst driving in the car a few hours later my ear popped and I could hear again. All pain subsided and I was back to normal. I can not recommend acupuncture enough.

Having been diagnosed with Parkinson's earlier this year, undertaking an initial 5 session programme with Berenice followed by monthly top up sessions has along with a couple of other changes, like yoga and diet, have provided me with amazing benefits. My tremors are significantly less, my walking and balance is much more stable and the strength in my right hand, wrist and arm is much better. I had my first appointment with Berenice a few days before Christmas 2014. I was suffering with acute back pain from an injury at work; I could not even bend down to do up my shoes. After my first treatment I felt so much better. If it was not for Berenice I would have been in pain all over the Christmas holiday. I was suffering from pain in my foot. My Doctor diagnosed Morton's Neuroma and said just wear wide foot ware and that it would last approx 6/8 weeks. I then went to see Berenice after diagnosis to see if Acupuncture could help me. I felt 60% pain relief after the first treatment and completely free of pain after the second treatment , as you can imagine I was well pleased.

The surgery is in a little idle of calm and tranquility and it is easy to relax as soon as you enter the place. The place is spotlessly clean and balances safe and homely with professional and efficient beautifully. You are greeted and welcomed and things run to time but I never felt rushed or that treatment was cut short in any way. Berenice is professional and welcoming and alias any fears or apprehension you may have about the treatment. The treatment is tailored to your individual needs and allows you to feel that any issues you have are dealt with at ease and in confidence. Although acupuncture is not part of the national health service it is an investment in your health and I now recommend it to lots of friends as I was overwhelmed with the results I experienced from it. I have had Acupuncture with different practitioners, but I have to admit that Berenice is one of the best Acupuncturists I ever had treat me. I recently had a course of acupuncture with Berenice. I did not go for any specific problem but was interested to try the therapy. I was not sleeping well and was generally lacking in energy. Berenice was very welcoming and completely professional. She took a very comprehensive history and with full discussion decided on a course of treatment to suit my needs. Immediately after the first session I felt better. I am sleeping better and have more energy. The other sessions strengthened the improvements I was feeling and they have been maintained.
